A One Piece case holds 12 boxes, 288 packs and 3,456 cards

English and Japanese boxes both hold 24 packs, but a Japanese pack has half the cards, and that changes what a box or case is worth.

An English One Piece Card Game booster box holds 24 packs of 12 cards, and a sealed case holds 12 boxes: 288 packs and 3,456 cards, per TCGplayer's EB-05 listings read Oct. 16, 2026. Japanese boxes also hold 24 packs, but a Japanese pack has six cards, so the box carries 144. At Bandai's $4.99 pack price, an English case costs $1,437.12 at list.

Our data: at 8:43 a.m. ET on Oct. 16, 2026, the cheapest of 17 English EB-05 case listings on TCGplayer was $3,670.88 with shipping. Split 12 ways, that's $305.91 a box, against $354.47 for the cheapest of 25 single boxes.

People ask this the week they buy their first case, usually for a hyped set like EB-05 Heroines Edition Vol. 2, and Bandai's English product pages won't settle it. The OP-18 page lists the $4.99 pack price, the Nov. 20 release and "127+1 types in total," and stops there. The counts live on the box art and in retailer listings.

How many packs are in a One Piece booster box?

A One Piece booster box holds 24 packs, in English and in Japanese. TCGplayer's EB-05 box listing says "Each booster box contains 24 packs" and puts 12 random cards in each English pack, so an English box is 288 cards. Bandai's render of the English EB-05 box prints the same two numbers on the side.

Twenty-four packs won't buy you a complete set, and Bandai says so up front. Its English EB-05 page counts "75+2 types in total" and warns that "multiples of one card may appear, or it may be difficult to assemble a full set." With 288 cards spread over 77 types, every box repeats cards; the question is only which ones. Collectors chasing one special art card are really paying for 24 more tries, and the box count is the ceiling on those tries.

At list, that's $119.76 a box. Nobody is paying list for EB-05 before its Oct. 30 release; the presale price runs about three times that, which we track in what EB-05 boxes cost before release. The pack count matters most when you compare boxes across languages, because two 24-pack boxes can hold very different amounts of cardboard.

How many boxes are in a One Piece case?

A One Piece case holds 12 booster boxes. The TCGplayer listing for the English EB-05 case reads, "There are 12 booster boxes per each booster box case," and the Swedish distributor Aquitaz labels its English and Japanese OP-18 cases "12 Boxes" too. A full English case comes to 288 packs and 3,456 cards.

Buying the case is cheaper per box, at least on EB-05 presale. Twelve of the cheapest single boxes on Oct. 16 would have cost $4,253.64, and the cheapest case was $3,670.88, a gap of $582.76. That case floor has slid since our tracker started at 11:29 a.m. ET on Oct. 12, when it read $3,949.97. By the evening of Oct. 14 it was $3,697.99, and the 8:43 a.m. read on Oct. 16 was $27.11 lower again. A $279.09 drop in four days is real money, but it's still more than two and a half times the $1,437.12 list price for the same 288 packs.

The trade-off is the cash. A case asks for the whole $3,670.88 at once, while a single box can be bought for $354.47 and passed on if the set disappoints.

How many packs are in a Japanese One Piece booster box?

A Japanese One Piece booster box also holds 24 packs, but each pack has six cards, so the box carries 144. Bandai's Japanese pages for EB-05 and OP-18 (in Japanese) list both at 240 yen for a six-card pack, and Aquitaz describes its OP-17 Japanese box as 24 packs of six. Japanese cases hold 12 boxes as well, per Aquitaz's OP-18 Japanese case listing, which works out to 1,728 cards, half an English case.

That half is why Japanese boxes look so cheap next to English ones. At 240 yen a pack, a Japanese box lists at 5,760 yen, but you're getting half the cards, a point we work through in the Japanese box math.

A third version catches buyers out. Bandai's English-language site for Asia lists EB-05 and OP-18 with six-card packs, and with the Japanese release dates of Oct. 31 and Nov. 21 rather than the North American Oct. 30 and Nov. 20. My read: a listing that says English and six cards a pack is probably the Asia product, and I'd get the pack count from the seller in writing before paying a North American price for it.
