A booster box of EB-05 Heroines Edition Vol. 2 costs $119.76 at list price. On Oct. 12, eighteen days before the set comes out, the cheapest box you could actually order on TCGplayer was $350.95, and the cheapest sealed case of 12 boxes was $3,949.97. That's about three times list for a product nobody has opened yet.
I sell this stuff for a living and I still think that number deserves an explanation.
The explanation is EB-03
The first Heroines set released in 2025, and its special-art cards did something One Piece sets don't usually do: they kept climbing. On Oct. 12, TCGplayer's market price for the Nico Robin EB03-055 SP was $1,457.99. Boa Hancock EB03-026 SP was $1,421.01. Nami EB03-053 SP was $1,313.18. The Uta manga-art secret rare sat at $940.55.

Put that next to the ordinary alt-art Nami from the same set, $50.65 the same day, and you see what buyers are paying for. One card. The SP printing. About 26 times the regular version of the same character.
EB-05 has eight special cards, according to Bandai's Japanese product page. EB-03 had nine SP entries on its English card list. Everyone bidding $350 for a box is betting the new eight behave like the old nine.
Why that bet might not pay
Pull rates. Bandai doesn't publish them for any set, so nobody knows how many boxes it takes to find one EB-05 special card. If they're printed at the same rate as EB-03's, the presale math might hold. If Bandai loosened the rate even a little, a $350 box is a $350 box of $5 packs.
The second thing to notice is that these are asking prices, not sales. TCGplayer's own market price for the case, which is built from completed sales, was $3,670.92 on Oct. 12. That's $280 under the cheapest live listing. Sellers are asking for more than buyers have recently paid, which is normal in a presale and also a sign that the people holding product are not in a hurry.
Our own read of the same TCGplayer feed, one shop's data, had the lowest case ask slip from $3,992.99 on Oct. 11 to $3,949.97 on Oct. 12 while the lowest box held at $350.95. Small moves. The market is waiting for Oct. 30 like everyone else.
What I'd actually do
If you're buying to play, wait. Singles will be cheaper than packs within a week of release, every time. If you're buying to open, know that you're paying a year of EB-03 history up front, for a set whose card list Bandai hasn't even posted. The release basics are in EB-05 lands Oct. 30.
Quick answers
What does an EB-05 box cost?+
$119.76 at list. On Oct. 12 the cheapest presale on TCGplayer was $350.95, and the cheapest 12-box case was $3,949.97.
Why are presales so far above list?+
Because the first Heroines set's special-art cards sell for $1,300 to $1,460 each a year later, and buyers are assuming EB-05 repeats that.
Are those presale prices real sales?+
No. They are asks. TCGplayer's market price for the case, $3,670.92, sat below the cheapest live ask on Oct. 12.
