TAG grades One Piece cards, and lists One Piece as one of the card game categories in its public population report. Getting a card into one of its slabs costs more than the published price list suggests. On Oct. 18, 2026, the three cheapest card game services on TAG's own store, at $39.95, $59.95 and $79.95, were all sold out, which leaves $149.95 as the cheapest way in.
Our data: we have sent 14 One Piece cards to TAG. Thirteen came back a 10, one came back a 9, and seven of the tens scored 990 or better, the band TAG calls Pristine. Two of them, an OP08-106 Nami and an EB03-055 Nico Robin, scored 992. The cert numbers and the slab photos are on our vault page.

How much is TAG grading per card for One Piece?
The cheapest TAG service a One Piece submitter could buy on Oct. 18, 2026 cost $149.95, because the three cheaper services were marked sold out on TAG's own product pages. Above it sits a $299.95 service with a two to three business day estimate.
The gap is not just money, it is time. The $59.95 service carries a 30 business day estimate. The $149.95 service carries five. So the services that disappeared are the slow, affordable ones that most collectors would pick for a $60 card, and what remains is the fast tier built for something worth protecting.

One detail says a lot about where the pressure is. The same five prices, with the same names, were all available that morning under TAG's sports and entertainment category. Only the card game versions were sold out. TAG's pricing page explains the policy in plain terms: "Value/Bulk services remain paused until capacity allows."
There is also a naming wrinkle worth knowing before you order. TAG's product feed and its own product pages do not agree on what the services are called. The feed calls the $149.95 service Express while its page is headed Priority, and the $299.95 service is Premier in the feed and Walkthrough on the page. Order by price and turnaround, not by name.
What is a TAG Pristine 10 on a One Piece card?
A TAG Pristine 10 is a card that scored 990 or better on TAG's 1,000-point scale, one band above the Gem Mint 10 range of 950 to 989. Both print a grade of 10 on the label. The score is what separates them.
TAG is blunt about how rare the top band is supposed to be. Its grading scale page says the Pristine "exceeds the industry standard for a Gem Mint 10 and represents less than 1% of the cards TAG'd." That number is the whole argument for the 1,000-point score: it answers how strong a 10 actually is, which a plain 10 on a label leaves out.

Seven of our 14 came back Pristine. Set that against TAG's own "less than 1%" and the explanation is selection, not some edge in what we buy. At $150 a card you look at centering and corners for a long time before you spend the money, and the ones that fail that look never go in the box. Our median score across the 14 is 986.5, which is a high Gem Mint 10, and the one card that came back a 9 was a promo printing of OP01-016 Nami that scored 919.
Is TAG grading worth it for One Piece cards?
Whether TAG grading pays comes down to which tier is open, because the same card costs $39.95 or $149.95 depending on the week. A $60 single does not survive a $149.95 fee plus shipping both ways. A card like the EB03-053 Nami special art, which we track in our piece on why that Nami costs four figures, is a different conversation.
The backlog is the context. TAG's tracker says its active backlog peaked at about 420% of its then monthly processing capacity and has since been cut by roughly 96%, with full catch up estimated for October in an update dated Sept. 30, 2026. The reopening of cheaper tiers is what that recovery bought, and TAG says it may pause individual services again if volume outruns capacity.
My read, and it is a read: if you are holding a One Piece card you already believe is a 10, waiting for the $39.95 or $59.95 window to reopen is worth more than the five day turnaround. If you are grading something you intend to sell in the next month, the $149.95 service is the only one that exists, and the card has to be worth several times that before the math works. We will log the next window here when one opens.

How we got these numbers. Our data: we compiled the TAG grade, TAG Score, cert number and population line for all 14 One Piece cards in our own vault on Oct. 18, 2026. Every one of them is a card we bought, sent to TAG ourselves and still hold, and each cert is printed on its slab label. These are hand-picked submissions, not a random sample of One Piece cards, so the share that came back a 10 says more about what we choose to send than about the game. TAG's prices, turnaround estimates and availability were read the same morning from its own product feed and from each service's product page, and cross-checked against the add to cart state on those pages.
